Kudos to Peter Sharpe’s handlers for making the redevelopment of the Don Mills Centre sound like the single greatest retail development in recent history. Can’t wait, Mr. Sharpe! But you know what would make me, and others in the neighbourhood, really happy? An opportunity to take a look at the latest plans so we can all get a better sense of what it’s going to look like. And while you’re at it, you can update the Don Mills Centre website with some NEW renderings and a press release or two to update us little people on the progress of the redevelopment.
There’s no need to be afraid. You can improve your image by simply taking a two-pronged approach to your communications campaign: media AND community relations. Do you really want Cadillac Fairview to be known as the corporation that sucked the life out of Don Mills? We all know you can do better.

Yes! Saw it a few weeks ago. What do you think? I’m torn.

Oddly there is a broken link in the site to the file :

What that might have been I don’t know. They don’t use a CMS of any kind to run the site…it’s manually updated so the site can reveal more if you spider it
I’ve downloaded all the site files in case they delete or revert anything.
I like the Image 7 - see how teh brick and glass facade looks? I think they’re been trying to incorporate the community designs into the plans. Looks good to me…not too brash. Now that is BEFORE you add back teh store logos.
As long as we don’t get anywhere close to the Leaside disaster that is the Home Depot property. Everyone involved in that development should be spanked in a bad way - starting with Jane Pitfield.
